Allendale NJ Adopts Smokefree Parks Policy

Posted on

At the April 9, 2015 Allendale Mayor and Council meeting, an ordinance restricting smoking in parks and recreation areas was adopted.

The ordinance states that anyone caught smoking tobacco products, including electronic smoking devices in parks and recreation areas in Allendale will be issued a summons and may receive warnings and monetary fines, including $100 for conviction of a first offense to $500 for a third or subsequent offense, according to the ordinance. There are limited areas where smoking would be allowed, such as public parking lots, sidewalks and public streets within Allendale.
