Welcome to our website where you will find valuable information supporting our public health mission: smokefree air and tobacco-free lives. In 2009, we updated our GASP acronym to Global Advisors on Smokefree Policy, to better reflect our mission and those we help. For 35 years, GASP continues to positively impact millions of lives, and serve as an integral resource to our public health partners, the business community and the public-at-large. Our Policy and Legal Resource Center's global reach extends from New Jersey, to other states and countries working on tobacco-free initiatives. GASP has developed a wealth of expertise and resource materials on this subject. We provided technical assistance for the passage of the 2006 New Jersey Smoke-free Air Act, and the NJ 100% Smokefree Residential College Housing Law (the first state to enact such a law). The NJ Smoke-Free
Air Act exempts casino gaming floors, so we continue to educate on the
need for 100% smokefree gaming floors to protect casino workers and patrons
in Atlantic City and elsewhere. Other major projects include protecting
multi-unit housing residents and children from the harmful effects of
secondhand smoke. Enjoy GASP's new homepage, where you can find the same helpful information, by clicking on the menu to the left. Try our new search function at the top of this homepage to find specific information. From all of our webpages, you can return to the homepage by clicking on our logo. We are in the process of streamlining our website, reorganizing our content, and integrating our name change into our materials, so we appreciate your patience.
