Spring Lake Adopts No Smoking Policy Along Beach and Boardwalk

In a unanimous vote, the Spring Lake Borough Council voted to ban smoking on its boardwalk, beaches and near access points along its waterfront. This is an extension of a previous ban on smoking along the waterfront. The ban made by Spring Lake follows the trend of many other communities across the state including Belmar which adopted a similar policy recently. Smokers could be subjected to a fine of no more than $2,000 and/or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days. Read a news article from NJ.com.
