Metuchen makes its parks smokefree

On December 1, 2014, Metuchen’s Mayor and Council voted through a new law that makes all of its local parks and recreational areas 100% smokefree, including the parking lots. There will also be a 50 foot smokefree buffer zone around the municipal buildings. The policy includes a ban on using electronic smoking devices in these locations as well. A designated smoking area near the Department of Public Works and Fire Department buildings can be created.
