Towns in California pass ordinance for smokefree multi-unit housing (KGO810)

Petuluma, CA city council passed an ordinance to ban smoking in apartments and other units of multi-family dwellings as well as hotels and motels. The ordinance will take effect on August 1, 2013 for buildings still under construction and on January 1, 2014 at existing housing units, hotels and motels.
