Study shows a NJ smoker spends $1.2 million over lifetime related to their smoking (NJ 101.5 reporter Louis Hochman, Wallet Hub reporter Richie Bernardo)

New Jersey 101.5  published a story on a study conducted by WalletHub.com that concluded that it costs the average NJ smoker almost $2 million over their lifetime. The costs per State were calculated based on the potential monetary losses — including the cumulative cost of a cigarette pack per day over several decades, health care expenditures, income losses and other costs — brought on by smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke.
