Ridgewood passes smokefree parks ordinance

Posted on

On May 15, 2013, Ridgewood Village Council passed a smokefree parks and recreational area ordinance which also includes property and structures owned or leased by the Board of Education. Read a May 20, 2013 Newjersey.com article about the ordinance which includes all municipal facilities, the plaza between Village Hall and the Public Library, and the entrance to the Community Center, but exempts the seating area along East Ridgewood Avenue on the north side of Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, parking lots, sidewalks and public streets.

Outdoor smokefree areas are proliferating around the state. Go to our webpage on Smokefree Outdoor Enviroments to learn more.
