On June 30, 2014, the NJ Senate passed by a vote of 23-10 a bill that raises the age of selling tobacco from age 19 to 21.  It would require people to not sell, furnish or give tobacco to anyone under age 21.  Last year, New York City passed a similar law that took effect this Spring 2014.   The Assembly companion bill was referred to Committee for a hearing.  Read The Star Ledger story.
