NJ could raise smoking age to 21 (Courier-Post, Kim Mulford)

On December 20, 2015 the South Jersey Courier-Post reported that proposed legislation to raise the age of smoking and e-cigarette age from 19 to21 in New Jersey could make it harder for 19- and 20 year olds to puff either way.

Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, D-Camden, is a primary sponsor for the bill, A-3254, she said that it made sense to her, “If we can stop them for a couple more years while their brains are still forming.” The assembly woman also isn’t sold on the safety of e-cigarettes.
