Hillsdale to raise age of tobacco/cigarette sales to 19

The Record reported that Hillsdale passed on 1st reading an ordinance to raise the age of tobacco and cigarette sales to 19, to be consistent with the NJ state law that is minimum 19 years of age for tobacco and electronic smoking devices.

With interest from neighboring communities to raise the age of sale to 21 for tobacco and electronic smoking devices, the Mayor and Council President are interested in possibly exploring this as an option for Hillsdale.
